Metaustral is built and maintained by a small team with direct experience working in and alongside data organizations. We've seen the frustration of data teams without proper tooling — analysts running the same SQL queries to answer the same questions again and again because nobody documented the authoritative answer; engineers fighting about which definition of "active customer" is correct; managers unable to answer basic compliance questions like "who has access to our customer PII?"

That direct experience drives every product decision. When we add a feature, it's because we've seen real teams need it. When we keep something simple, it's because we've also seen teams abandon tools that were too complex to maintain. We build what we would have wanted when we were in the same position.
