These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Metaustral (the "Service"), operated by Metaustral ("we", "our", or "us"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Metaustral is a cloud-based data catalog platform that allows organizations to document, discover, and manage metadata about their data assets — including database tables, views, dashboards, KPIs, reports, and datasets. The Service stores metadata only (names, descriptions, column definitions, ownership information). It does not access, store, or process the actual content of your databases.
The Service also includes an AI assistant feature available on Pro and Enterprise plans that allows users to query catalog metadata using natural language.
To use the Service you must register an account representing your organization (a "Tenant"). You agree to:
One account is allowed per organization. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits is prohibited.
The Service is offered under the following plans:
All prices displayed are in USD and exclude applicable taxes. Taxes are calculated based on your billing location and added at checkout.
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Payments are processed through Polar as our Merchant of Record, which handles tax calculation and collection on our behalf. Online payment processing via Polar is currently in rollout (coming soon); during this period, plan activation may be handled manually. By subscribing to a paid plan you authorize Metaustral to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Plan changes: Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the current billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period. If a downgrade results in your account exceeding the limits of the new plan (e.g., more assets, connections, or users than the plan allows), your existing data will not be deleted — however, you will not be able to create new assets, connections, or users until your usage falls within the new plan's limits.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us. Access continues until the end of the current paid period. No refunds are provided for partial months.
Failed payments: If a payment fails, Metaustral will retry the charge. If payment remains unsuccessful after multiple retries, your account will be suspended until payment is resolved.
You agree not to use the Service to:
You retain all rights to the metadata and content you input into the Service. By using the Service, you grant Metaustral a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you.
Metaustral does not claim ownership over your data. We will not sell, share, or use your metadata for purposes other than providing and improving the Service.
When you configure database connections, credentials (passwords) are encrypted using industry-standard encryption (AES-256 via Fernet) before being stored. Metaustral uses these credentials solely to execute metadata discovery operations you explicitly request. We do not read, access, or store the actual content of your databases.
Enterprise subscribers may download and use the Metaustral On-Premise Agent. The agent runs entirely within your network, connects to your local databases, and sends only metadata to the Metaustral API. No actual database content is transmitted. You are responsible for the security of the agent deployment in your environment.
Pro and Enterprise plans include access to an AI assistant powered by third-party large language model providers. Queries submitted to the AI assistant are processed to generate responses based on your catalog metadata. You agree not to submit confidential, sensitive, or personally identifiable information to the AI assistant. Metaustral is not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated responses.
The Service, including all software, interfaces, design, and documentation, is the exclusive property of Metaustral and is protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to the Metaustral name, logo, or trademarks.
Each party agrees to keep confidential any non-public information of the other party that is designated as confidential or that reasonably should be understood to be confidential given the nature of the information. This obligation does not apply to information that is publicly available, independently developed, or required to be disclosed by law.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. METAUSTRAL DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, METAUSTRAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY.
METAUSTRAL'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Metaustral and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
Metaustral may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we determine that continued provision of the Service poses a legal or security risk.
Upon termination or cancellation, your data will be retained for 30 days during which you may request an export. After 30 days, your data will be permanently deleted.
Metaustral reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of material changes by email or by displaying a notice in the Service. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Chile, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Chile.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Metaustral regarding the Service. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Metaustral's failure to enforce any right or provision shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

Estos Términos de Servicio ("Términos") regulan el acceso y uso de Metaustral (el "Servicio"), operado por Metaustral ("nosotros", "nuestro" o "nos"). Al acceder o utilizar el Servicio, usted acepta quedar vinculado por estos Términos. Si no está de acuerdo, no utilice el Servicio.
Metaustral es una plataforma SaaS de catálogo de datos que permite a las organizaciones documentar, descubrir y gestionar metadatos sobre sus activos de datos, incluyendo tablas de bases de datos, vistas, dashboards, KPIs, reportes y datasets. El Servicio almacena únicamente metadatos (nombres, descripciones, definiciones de columnas, información de propietarios). No accede, almacena ni procesa el contenido real de sus bases de datos.
El Servicio también incluye un asistente de inteligencia artificial disponible en los planes Pro y Enterprise, que permite a los usuarios consultar los metadatos del catálogo mediante lenguaje natural.

Se permite una cuenta por organización. Está prohibido crear múltiples cuentas para eludir los límites de los planes.
El Servicio se ofrece bajo los siguientes planes:
Todos los precios mostrados están en USD y no incluyen impuestos aplicables. Los impuestos se calculan según su ubicación de facturación y se agregan al momento del pago.
Los planes de pago se facturan mensualmente por adelantado. Los pagos son procesados por Polar como nuestro Merchant of Record, quien gestiona el cálculo y la recaudación de impuestos en nuestro nombre. El procesamiento de pagos en línea a través de Polar está actualmente en implementación (próximamente); durante este período, la activación del plan puede gestionarse de forma manual. Al suscribirse a un plan de pago, usted autoriza a Metaustral a cobrar su método de pago de forma recurrente.
Cambios de plan: Las actualizaciones tienen efecto inmediato y se prorratean para el período de facturación actual. Las reducciones de plan tienen efecto al inicio del siguiente período de facturación. Si al bajar de plan su cuenta supera los límites del nuevo plan (por ejemplo, más activos, conexiones o usuarios de los permitidos), los datos existentes no serán eliminados — sin embargo, no podrá crear nuevos activos, conexiones ni usuarios hasta que el uso de su cuenta esté dentro de los límites del nuevo plan.
Cancelación: Puede cancelar su suscripción en cualquier momento contactándonos. El acceso continúa hasta el final del período pagado. No se emiten reembolsos por meses parciales.
Pagos fallidos: Si un pago falla, Metaustral reintentará el cargo. Si el pago continúa sin éxito tras múltiples intentos, su cuenta será suspendida hasta que se resuelva el pago.
Usted acepta no utilizar el Servicio para:
Usted conserva todos los derechos sobre los metadatos y el contenido que introduce en el Servicio. Al utilizar el Servicio, otorga a Metaustral una licencia limitada para almacenar, procesar y mostrar ese contenido únicamente con el fin de prestarle el Servicio.
Metaustral no reclama propiedad sobre sus datos. No venderemos, compartiremos ni utilizaremos sus metadatos para fines distintos a la prestación y mejora del Servicio.
Cuando configure conexiones a bases de datos, las credenciales (contraseñas) se cifran utilizando cifrado de nivel industrial (AES-256 mediante Fernet) antes de ser almacenadas. Metaustral utiliza estas credenciales únicamente para ejecutar operaciones de descubrimiento de metadatos que usted solicita explícitamente. No leemos, accedemos ni almacenamos el contenido real de sus bases de datos.
Los suscriptores del plan Enterprise pueden descargar y utilizar el Agente On-Premise de Metaustral. El agente se ejecuta íntegramente dentro de su red, se conecta a sus bases de datos locales y envía únicamente metadatos a la API de Metaustral. No se transmite ningún contenido real de las bases de datos. Usted es responsable de la seguridad del despliegue del agente en su entorno.
Los planes Pro y Enterprise incluyen acceso a un asistente de IA potenciado por proveedores externos de modelos de lenguaje. Las consultas enviadas al asistente de IA se procesan para generar respuestas basadas en los metadatos de su catálogo. Usted acepta no enviar información confidencial, sensible o de identificación personal al asistente de IA. Metaustral no se responsabiliza por la exactitud o integridad de las respuestas generadas por IA.
El Servicio, incluyendo todo el software, interfaces, diseño y documentación, es propiedad exclusiva de Metaustral y está protegido por las leyes de propiedad intelectual. Nada en estos Términos le otorga ningún derecho sobre el nombre, logotipo o marcas comerciales de Metaustral.
Cada parte se compromete a mantener confidencial cualquier información no pública de la otra parte que sea designada como confidencial o que razonablemente deba entenderse como tal dada la naturaleza de la información. Esta obligación no se aplica a información que sea de dominio público, desarrollada de forma independiente, o que deba ser divulgada por ley.
EL SERVICIO SE PROPORCIONA "TAL CUAL" Y "SEGÚN DISPONIBILIDAD", SIN GARANTÍAS DE NINGÚN TIPO, EXPRESAS O IMPLÍCITAS, INCLUYENDO PERO SIN LIMITARSE A GARANTÍAS DE COMERCIABILIDAD, IDONEIDAD PARA UN FIN PARTICULAR O NO INFRACCIÓN. METAUSTRAL NO GARANTIZA QUE EL SERVICIO SEA ININTERRUMPIDO, LIBRE DE ERRORES O LIBRE DE COMPONENTES DAÑINOS.
EN LA MÁXIMA MEDIDA PERMITIDA POR LA LEY APLICABLE, METAUSTRAL NO SERÁ RESPONSABLE POR DAÑOS INDIRECTOS, INCIDENTALES, ESPECIALES, CONSECUENTES O PUNITIVOS, NI POR PÉRDIDAS DE BENEFICIOS O INGRESOS.
LA RESPONSABILIDAD TOTAL ACUMULADA DE METAUSTRAL DERIVADA DE ESTOS TÉRMINOS O DEL SERVICIO NO SUPERARÁ EL MAYOR DE (A) LOS IMPORTES PAGADOS POR USTED EN LOS DOCE MESES ANTERIORES A LA RECLAMACIÓN, O (B) USD $100.
Usted acepta indemnizar y eximir de responsabilidad a Metaustral y a sus directivos, empleados y agentes frente a cualquier reclamación, daño, pérdida o gasto (incluidos honorarios legales razonables) derivados de su uso del Servicio, su incumplimiento de estos Términos o su vulneración de los derechos de terceros.
Metaustral puede suspender o cancelar su cuenta de forma inmediata si incumple estos Términos, no paga las tarifas aplicables, o si determinamos que la continuación del Servicio supone un riesgo legal o de seguridad.
Tras la terminación o cancelación, sus datos se conservarán durante 30 días, período durante el cual puede solicitar una exportación. Transcurridos 30 días, sus datos serán eliminados de forma permanente.
Metaustral se reserva el derecho de modificar estos Términos en cualquier momento. Notificaremos los cambios materiales con al menos 30 días de antelación por correo electrónico o mediante un aviso en el Servicio. El uso continuado del Servicio tras la fecha de vigencia implica la aceptación de los Términos revisados.
Estos Términos se rigen por las leyes de Chile, sin consideración a principios de conflicto de leyes. Cualquier disputa derivada de estos Términos se resolverá exclusivamente ante los tribunales de Chile.
Estos Términos constituyen el acuerdo completo entre usted y Metaustral en relación con el Servicio. Si alguna disposición resulta inaplicable, las disposiciones restantes permanecen en plena vigencia. La falta de aplicación por parte de Metaustral de cualquier derecho o disposición no constituirá una renuncia a dicho derecho o disposición.
